About the role

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas for gas detection solutions across South Africa.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers across industries including Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing, and Utilities.
  • Identify customer needs and present Industrial Scientific's gas detection solutions for safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage a network of distributors and channel partners to promote and sell products.
  • Deliver sales presentations and technical seminars to educate potential and existing customers.
  • Negotiate and close subscription contracts ensuring adherence to company pricing and policies.
  • Regularly travel within South Africa to meet customers and attend industry events.
  • Collaborate with marketing, application engineering, and customer service to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Participate in sales meetings, conferences, and trade shows to build brand awareness.
  • Maintain deep understanding of South African market dynamics, gas detection regulations, and competitor landscape.
  • Utilize CRM and sales tools to track activity, generate reports, and forecast sales performance.
  • Provide ongoing technical and application support to customers and prepare sales reports and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of successful experience in B2B sales, preferably within the industrial safety or gas detection industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of gas detection technologies and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in South Africa and a deep understanding of the local market.
  • Language Required: Afrikaans. English
  • Additional Language Preferred: Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho
  • Valid South African driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
