About the role
- Individually designing mechanical parts and mechanical systems
- Develop mechanical components and subsystems to meet project and product requirements
- Participate in mechanical design efforts for new and existing products, with a focus on plastic part design and hardware integration.
- Contribute to the design of injection molding tools and ensure manufacturability of plastic components.
- Ensure designs meet compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., CE, UL, RoHS) and internal robustness requirements.
- Perform engineering activities and studies for product excellence – DFM, robustness testing, regulatory standard testing according to IEC61010
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure effective mechanical-electrical integration.
- Conduct mechanical design reviews, risk assessments and mitigation, project validation activities within assigned project scope.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, tools, and documentation practices.
- Provide hands-on support in designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Support Mechanical Engineering Manager in global efforts for estimating mechanical work scope and supports project outcomes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Strong competence in plastic part design and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD design, experience with Creo/ProEngineer is strongly preferred - 3D modeling, creation of drawings with GD&T, and data management.
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping, iterative design, and testing.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems using established best technical practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams.
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory standards for plastic and hardware products.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in prototyping and iterative design.
- A strong sense of self-discipline, integrity and ownership.
