About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide members with an exceptional experience while efficiently processing member services
- Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, money orders, cash advances, transfers, check orders, and credit card cash advances
- Review checks for proper endorsement and negotiability
- Sell money orders, gift cards, and cashier’s checks
- Redeem savings bonds, process wire transfers, and stop payments
- Educate members about credit union products, services, accounts, rates, ATMs, mobile and online banking, and shared branching
- Maintain an accurately balanced cash drawer and resolve discrepancies
- Establish professional relationships with members, team members, and management
- Resolve member requests and questions promptly
- Complete account maintenance requests and required reports and records
- Refer cross-sell opportunities to Member Advisors
- Attend required meetings and training and participate in community programs
- Perform drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned
- Complete compliance training and comply with OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act, and USA Patriot requirements
- Maintain a clean, secure, and well-maintained work area
- Work at any required Credit Union location, including extended hours, holidays, and Saturdays
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least six months of experience in cash handling, customer service, or retail sales
- Basic understanding of Credit Union operations
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, verbal and written, preferred
- Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude
- Good math skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to operate a PC, related software, and standard business equipment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional image
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to stand for several hours per day
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently
- Ability to perform basic math, decimals, ratios, percents, and interpret graphs
- Ability to read and write complex sentences and communicate using a good vocabulary
- Must comply with applicable regulations and complete required compliance training
- Visa sponsorship is not available
