About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the consolidation of the fixed asset register (multiple construction projects), ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in compliance with the company policy and accounting standards.
- Direct management of the fixed asset process for the Company’s research and development sites (California and Massachusetts).
- Monitor and reconcile Construction-in-Progress (CIP) balances and partner with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and correct capitalization.
- Support and enhance existing fixed assets accounting processes within Oracle, including depreciation runs, asset tagging, and asset class management.
- Conduct regular asset audits and physical inventory checks in collaboration with site and operations teams at the R&D locations; reconcile discrepancies and propose remediation plans.
- Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives, especially around asset tracking, reporting automation, and cross-functional visibility.
- Prepare monthly close entries and reconciliations, and support financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including appropriate treatment of asset impairments, retirements and componentization.
- Lead/own the suite of SOX controls for the fixed asset process.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance system teams to improve asset workflows and controls in Oracle.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and narratives related to capital assets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4-5 years experience in US GAAP Accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus)
- Able to work independently with little instruction and can adapt to change
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changes in prioritizing tasks
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
