About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in the end-to-end preparation, drafting, and filing of periodic SEC reports including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.
  • Prepare clear, accurate financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures.
  • Manage the detailed XBRL tagging and review process for all filed financial statements to ensure compliance with SEC mandates.
  • Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards (US GAAP/SEC) on the company’s financial statements and draft technical accounting memoranda.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, managing preparation and timely delivery of PBC schedules and inquiries.
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls over financial reporting (SOX 404 compliance) relating to the financial reporting cycle.
  • Maintain the reporting tie-out binder and supporting documentation to ensure 100% accuracy of all financial metrics and disclosures.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline the financial reporting process and optimize reporting software/tools.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience; a mix of Big 4/large regional public accounting and corporate SEC reporting experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and financial statement presentation.
  • CPA license (active or actively pursuing) highly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience with specialized SEC reporting software (Workiva) highly desirable; Oracle ERP experience a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, and ability to manage strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
