Key responsibilities & impact

Work on a Portfolio Engineering Team based in Chennai
Develop and maintain the Enterprise Data Platform
Perform end-to-end full-stack data engineering
Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, data champions, technical experts, architects, stakeholders, and product management
Advocate for well-designed technical solutions
Develop analytical data products using streaming and batch ingestion patterns on Google Cloud Platform
Apply solid data warehouse principles
Serve as a subject matter expert in data engineering, focusing on GCP-native services and well-integrated third-party technologies
Evaluate and productionalize data pipelines for data ingestion, curation, and consumption
Translate business problems into technical data requirements while capturing key business drivers

Requirements

What you’ll need

In-depth understanding of Google’s product technology or another cloud platform and underlying architectures, especially Gen AI / Ford LLM
Experience with development ecosystems such as Tekton, Git, and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with Agile and Lean methodologies
Experience performance tuning SQL queries
Experience creating and executing detailed test plans
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related scientific field
5+ years of SQL development and analytics/data product development experience
3+ years of cloud experience, preferably GCP, with solutions designed and implemented at production scale
Experience with GCP-native or equivalent services such as BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Build
Experience with Airflow for scheduling and orchestration of data pipelines
Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
2+ years of professional development experience in PySpark and Python
Experience analyzing complex data, organizing raw data, and integrating massive datasets from multiple data sources
Experience working with architects to evaluate and productionalize data pipelines for data ingestion, curation, and consumption
Experience working with stakeholders to formulate business problems as technical data requirements and implement technical solutions
GCP Professional Data Engineer certification is nice to have
