About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create high-level designs, system-level sequence diagrams, and validate and apply architectural standards across the supply chain analytics ecosystem
- Integrate machine learning algorithms and build production-ready applications powered by Generative AI and LLMs
- Write clean, well-crafted, maintainable code
- Architect and build distributed, fault-tolerant data pipelines to ingest, process, and serve massive datasets
- Ensure data and software products align with enterprise policies
- Pair program with team members and mentor engineers on clean code practices, Extreme Programming, and Agile ways of working
- Advocate for and implement Test-Driven Development, continuous integration, and iterative delivery
- Work with Product Owners and GDIA partners to define, prioritize, and deliver MVPs using Jira
- Help Product Development Office teams adopt modern ways of working
- Contribute to Ford’s institutional knowledge base
- Present technical concepts to Ford leadership and collaborate with GDIA partners and diverse teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven track record delivering customer-facing full-stack products
- Strong experience in Java, including Spring Boot, and Python
- 3+ years of experience with Angular, React, or similar modern client-side MVC frameworks
- 3+ years of experience with SQL and highly distributed, fault-tolerant data pipelines
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Practical experience integrating LLMs such as OpenCode or GPT into web applications
- Understanding of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, vector databases, MCP Protocol, and Agentic systems
- Basic understanding of core Machine Learning concepts and supply chain use cases
- Strong experience working in an Agile/PDO environment using Jira
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Preferred or additional qualifications include advanced GCP services, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, CI/CD tools and pipelines, LLM fine-tuning, agentic AI workflows, production ML deployment, and automated testing
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is available
