About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead sourcing and commercial negotiations for Transmission Clutch Modules, delivering competitive cost, quality, delivery, and risk outcomes.
- Develop and execute supplier and sourcing strategies that support program launches, cost objectives, and long-term business goals.
- Partner with Product Development, Manufacturing, STA, MP&L, Finance, and the Global Commodity Team to drive sourcing decisions and resolve supplier-related issues.
- Manage supplier relationships through commercial negotiations, QCDR reviews, Total Value Management (TVM) initiatives, and performance accountability.
- Support supply continuity by mitigating supplier risks, resolving commercial issues, and identifying alternative sourcing or technology solutions when needed.
- Develop commodity cost roadmaps and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership on sourcing strategies and commercial settlements.
- Champion continuous improvement by enhancing procurement processes, strengthening supplier performance, and supporting organizational objectives.
- Travel as needed to support supplier engagements and business requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- 3+ years of experience with manufactured commodities and manufacturing processes.
- Master's degree.
- 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience with transmission components, clutch systems, or other powertrain commodities.
- Knowledge of supplier cost modeling, Total Value Management (TVM), and automotive sourcing processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and procurement systems.
- Experience presenting sourcing strategies and business recommendations to senior leadership.
