About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise a team Seat Engineers whose primary responsibility is to Design, Release and integrate all seat components and assemblies for global programs.
  • Manage delivery of the seat system to ensure flawless and timely delivery for all major programs. Ensure engineering deliverables are met with quality, discipline and excellence, with evidence properly documented.
  • Lead the development and integration of seat components and assemblies to deliver the most efficient system design for cost, weight, quality and craftsmanship.
  • Manage financial status-to-target for each major program.
  • Manage program launch activities and engineering support.
  • Create and execute quality and TVM roadmaps to meet functional objectives.
  • Create and maintain staffing, succession and development plans for GSR’s.
  • Position will require occasional travel to Ford and supplier assembly plants for readiness and sign-off events and travel to global Ford engineering hubs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Engineering, Masters degree preferred
  • 8+ years experience in D&R Engineering
  • Thorough knowledge of GPDS and proven skill of interpreting process deliverables for Seats Engineering
  • Functional / working knowledge of all D&R tools including WERS, FEDE BOM / DVP / Deviation, GPIRS, 8D, etc.
  • Launch experience in Seats commodity from TT – OKTB on at least one major program.
  • Complete full cycle GPDS experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with engineering fundamentals such as target setting, target cascades, design completion, verification, and confirmation
  • Familiarity with Seat Engineering GCBP's, Attachment 'C's, DEA waterfall
  • Demonstrated understanding of seat system/sub-system/components competitive benchmarking, value, and supply-base
