About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expert technical guidance to application development teams concerning matters of application containerization, building, deploying, running and monitoring Cloud Native, legacy and COTS applications in Ford’s Container-based platforms (Kubernetes and GCP Cloud Run)
- Work with other teams to evaluate and adopt new container, cloud and Kubernetes related technologies
- Develop detailed guides, patterns, videos, workshops, sample code, reference CI/CD pipelines and utilities for members of the Ford Software Development community
- Identify and solve complex production and CI/CD pipeline issues while being able to dive deeply into application code
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- 5 years of experience with Developing Cloud Native applications and applications written in Spring Boot and Java EE
- 4 years of experience with Running applications in and deploying applications to Red Hat OpenShift, GKE or other Kubernetes environments or Knative environments including GCP Cloud Run
- 4 years of experience with Developing and creating CI/CD pipelines with either Tekton or Jenkins
- 4 years of experience with Performing application containerization with tools including Docker, Buildah and Podman
- 4 years of experience with Performing Linux administration and shell scripting
- 3 years of experience with Creating technical guides, patterns and learning materials intended for use by readers inexperienced with application containerization and Kubernetes
- 2 years of experience with Integrating applications with monitoring tools including Dynatrace, Fluent Bit, Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana.
