About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose complex issues by analyzing and interpreting existing application codebases, logs, and database schemas
- Perform deep dives into application code and databases to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement effective, lasting solutions
- Develop deep subject matter expertise in the application's functionality and underlying architecture
- Support and maintain API integrations (e.g., REST, SOAP) connecting COTS applications to other systems
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
- Apply Agile methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot software issues using established testing frameworks and tools
- Apply software security principles and best practices in day-to-day work
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, vendors, and other engineers
- Communicate findings, progress, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 1+ year of professional experience in software development, system integration, or supporting enterprise-level COTS applications by investigating existing codebases and database structures
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (core database requirement)
- Familiarity with Windows Server based operating systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues
- Experience with software testing frameworks and tools
- Understanding of software security principles and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities
