About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Diagnose complex issues by analyzing and interpreting existing application codebases, logs, and database schemas
Perform deep dives into application code and databases to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement effective, lasting solutions
Develop deep subject matter expertise in the application's functionality and underlying architecture
Support and maintain API integrations (e.g., REST, SOAP) connecting COTS applications to other systems
Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
Apply Agile methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle
Test, debug, and troubleshoot software issues using established testing frameworks and tools
Apply software security principles and best practices in day-to-day work
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, vendors, and other engineers
Communicate findings, progress, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
1+ year of professional experience in software development, system integration, or supporting enterprise-level COTS applications by investigating existing codebases and database structures
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (core database requirement)
Familiarity with Windows Server based operating systems
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues
Experience with software testing frameworks and tools
Understanding of software security principles and practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities
