About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create, maintain, and analyze Bills of Materials in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive BOMs that detail components, materials, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of information within systems, performing verification of launch BOM accuracy.
  • Work closely with engineering, Purchasing, production, and supply chain teams to track changes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage engineering change orders and update BOMs accordingly.
  • Support engineering and inventory control by leading efforts to maintain and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through BOM data analysis.
  • Suggest enhancements to PLM/ERP systems.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline, supply chain management or business administration is preferred.
  • Typically 2-5+ years of experience in BOM management, inventory management, or a related data field, particularly within the automotive industry.
  • Strong proficiency in PLM and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Windchill) is crucial.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel, Business Objects, and Access is also beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and complex data.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to interact effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Experience with change management processes.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset are highly valued.
