About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, maintain, and analyze Bills of Materials in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive BOMs that detail components, materials, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of information within systems, performing verification of launch BOM accuracy.
- Work closely with engineering, Purchasing, production, and supply chain teams to track changes and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage engineering change orders and update BOMs accordingly.
- Support engineering and inventory control by leading efforts to maintain and improve inventory accuracy.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through BOM data analysis.
- Suggest enhancements to PLM/ERP systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline, supply chain management or business administration is preferred.
- Typically 2-5+ years of experience in BOM management, inventory management, or a related data field, particularly within the automotive industry.
- Strong proficiency in PLM and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Windchill) is crucial.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel, Business Objects, and Access is also beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and complex data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to interact effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience with change management processes.
- A proactive, results-driven mindset are highly valued.
