About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conducting Testing in a laboratory environment
- Executing emissions testing of prototype vehicles on chassis dynamometers.
- Test vehicles in environmental test sites simulating 100 deg and 90 grains of humidity.
- Test vehicles in environmental test sites simulating temperatures down to 20 degrees.
- Test vehicles in altitude test chambers simulating altitudes 10,000 to 14,000 feet above sea level.
- Properly and efficiently remove and install test samples and supporting systems
- Maneuver vehicle restraint equipment on chassis dynamometer, 50lb minimum weight.
- Capable of using Pneumatic hand tools.
- Utilize (PMHV) powered vehicle movers.
- Capable of handling vehicle exhaust and exhaust sampling systems.
- Perform emissions test procedures, supporting emissions calibrations engineers.
- Operate Road Speed fans simulating real-world, road-speed winds approaching 75mph.
- Test vehicles on chassis dynamometer 2wd and 4wd, at speeds approaching 85mph.
- Execute safety protocols with excellence.
- Connect delicate and highly technical sampling systems and instrumentation.
- Evaluate test data results.
- Perform site readiness checks and report failures.
- Demonstrate and incorporate 5s Tools with regard to test site set up and organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in emission testing
- Powertrain experience
- The ability to work a Flexible work schedule (Midnight shift)
- A customer focused mindset
- Proven ability to handle tasks independently.
- Proven ability to lead in a Team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organizational skills
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Ability to adjust to changing requirements.
- Proven dependability and reliability
- Motivated/Self starter.
