About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Requirements Elicitation & Management: Own the development of detailed software-level interface and functional specifications for the UCM in JAMA, ensuring full traceability from vehicle-level requirements down to module interfaces.
- Support Key UCM Functions: Establish requirements for core module features, including cell balancing, State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), thermal management, and power electronics control algorithms.
- Manage Supplier Integration: Work closely with Full-Service Suppliers (FSS) to explain requirements, review technical proposals, manage the Statement of Work (SOW)/RFQ packages, and control requirement change-management.
- Drive Functional Safety & Cyber Security: Collaborate with safety specialists to implement ISO 26262 requirements, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Functional Safety Requirements (FSR), and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR).
- Manage Network & Diagnostic Interfaces: Manage communication (CAN, LIN), and diagnostic (UDS) interfaces for the UCM.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Reviews: Conduct software design and requirement reviews with interfacing Ford activities, Module Hardware, Power Net Controls, and supplier engineering.
- Support Validation & Testing: Align subsystem-level validation plans and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, with the defined requirements to ensure complete coverage.
- Agile Collaboration: Facilitate effective collaboration between JIRA Saga owners, product owners, and supplier software teams to ensure efficient and timely software delivery across programs.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
- Strong knowledge of Embedded software, Electronics, Systems Engineering and functional specifications
- M.S. in electrical engineering or computer science (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with software development (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience developing software or system level requirements (preferred)
- Experience with Software program management (preferred)
- Experience with MS Office, Vector tools such as CANalyzer, use of an oscilloscope and other troubleshooting tools (preferred)
