About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development and execution of audio tuning strategies for various vehicle platforms.
  • Tune vehicle audio systems to deliver a superior in-vehicle audio experience.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external cross functional stakeholders including hardware engineers, software developers, and vehicle design teams to deliver seamlessly integrated audio solutions into vehicle systems.
  • Develop analysis methods and conduct acoustic measurements to verify and maintain sound quality and performance against design specifications and standards.
  • Be a resource for model engineering teams and technical expert for in-vehicle acoustics and audio systems, assisting in issue troubleshooting, program delivery, and continuous improvement/benchmarking initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and best practices within Ford systems for audio system specifications, tuning parameters, tools and validation results.
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in audio technologies, automotive audio trends, and acoustic measurement and vehicle tuning techniques.
  • Support the validation of high-performance automotive audio DSP systems (including signal flow, tuning blocks, tuning tool, etc.) to deliver best-in-class performance and audio system sound quality from concept through production.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in critical listening and tuning vehicle audio systems
  • 3+ years of experience in acoustic, amplifier, or transducer engineering, audio signal processing, psychoacoustics, or automotive audio system integration
  • 3+ years of experience in acoustic simulation and modeling, data collection, and analysis with measurement and system calibration tools
  • Specific experience in at least 2 of the following: recording technology, acoustic theory, sound engineering techniques, critical listening, sound system design, audio testing methodologies
