About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As a key member of our Manufacturing I.T. team, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of Ford’s mobility and electrification efforts.
- You will be part of a team of dedicated software professionals that will help us to iteratively build and ship high-quality software products to help our customers build quality vehicles.
- Lead the design process from initial discovery and user research through to high-fidelity prototyping, testing, and developer handoff.
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, surveys, heuristic evaluations, usability testing, and stakeholder workshops) to uncover user needs and align cross-functional teams.
- Build, scale, and document comprehensive design systems and reusable component libraries in Figma to ensure visual consistency and accelerate development cycles.
- Create clear user flows, site maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that simplify complex workflows and optimize digital experiences.
- Advocate for and implement inclusive design practices, ensuring all digital products comply with WCAG accessibility standards.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to align design strategy with business goals, and work hand-in-hand with Front-End Engineers to ensure design feasibility and high-quality implementation.
- Analyze user feedback, behavioral data, and usability metrics to continuously iterate and improve product engagement, conversion, and task success rates.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 3 + more years of experience in product design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with user research methodologies (user surveys, focus groups, personas)
- Passion for technology and a desire to create user-centered products.
- Master’s Degree (even better)
- Knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
