About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all global releases of FCSD’s Integrated Diagnostic Software (IDS) dealership software application.
- Coordinate the timely resolution to diagnostic software issues preventing technicians from fixing customer vehicles. Often being able to identify key stakeholders that are responsible for root cause of the issue.
- Provide customer concern support to the Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) & Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and Software Verification Teams for software failure and/or data issues impacting customer vehicle performance.
- Oversee and sometimes lead development of detailed resolution plans for specific software bugs holding up technicians.
- Apply XML tools to develop/debug service procedures and analyze/debug back-end data quality.
- Create interim containment actions to address customers vehicle while permanent corrective actions are created then implemented.
- Work closely with Product Development engineers and teams to ensure issues impacting service technicians are understood and properly prioritized and actioned.
- Assure correct data support of software applications
- Collaborate with Software/Hardware Designer/Supplier to assure design intent is met.
- Validation performed using both simulation tools and on vehicle validation.
- Liaise with Product Development Data customers to ensure back-end data accuracy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years’ experience working with automotive diagnostic scan tools
- 1+ years of experience diagnosing IDS runtime ecosystem concerns and supporting servers/services as well as working level relationships with the tier 1 supplier who provides software.
- 1+ years of experience with field concern triage process and contacts in place today supporting Ford dealership software tools.
- 1+ years of experience with Ford diagnostic processes and procedures used by Ford technicians globally
- 1+ years of experience with automotive network communication protocols – CAN, etc.
- 1+ years of proven experience with software development & Data systems – basic understanding of software programming syntax and data systems interface
- Associates degree or higher
