Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Failure Mode Analysis (FMA): Spearhead FMA activities for upcoming, next-generation Ford and Lincoln vehicle models to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Collaborate on Risk Analysis: Partner with Design & Release (D&R) Engineers and Vehicle Program Management Teams on Change Point Analysis and Risk Analysis to build and execute robust FMA work plans.
Deliver Quality Milestones: Guide and support D&R Engineers to ensure all Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) Quality Deliverables are successfully executed on time.
Drive Root Cause & Prevention: Lead cross-functional teams in rigorous root-cause analysis and establish permanent Prevent Recurrence Actions (PRA) for quality issues identified before, during, and after vehicle launch, utilizing structured problem-solving tools (with a strong emphasis on the 3-Legged 5-Why approach).
Develop Foundation Quality Documents: Collaborate with D&R Engineers and external supplier teams to author and refine critical quality documents, including Quality History, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Matrices, P-Diagrams, Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA/PFMEA), Special Characteristics, and Control Plans.
Optimize Process Controls: Work hand-in-hand with engineering and supplier partners to identify, define, and implement robust process control methods aimed at the prevention and early detection of failures.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific discipline (or foreign equivalent, or a combination of equivalent education and experience).
Technical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Low-Voltage and/or High-Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems.
Methodology: Proven experience applying structured engineering problem-solving methods.
Skills: Strong analytical capabilities combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Mindset: A genuine passion for continuous improvement and elevating product quality.

Longevity: 5+ years of dedicated experience in Low-Voltage and/or High-Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems.
Advanced Quality Tools: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Reliability Engineering: Experience defining, planning, and executing comprehensive product reliability plans.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive manufacturing assembly and quality control processes.
Leadership: A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and presenting technical status updates during Management Reviews.
