About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop first principles cost tools and collaborating with other engineers to provide grounds up physics based minimum system or part cost.
  • Ensure enterprise level optimization by providing powertrain optimization teams the above code-based cost tools to be integrated into the optimization plan.
  • Develop unique prototype solutions that ensure sourcing leverage supports design lock and production program timing.
  • Drive internal make vs buy studies with internal advanced manufacturing groups to ensure optimum outcomes.
  • Work with ADVEV GSM partners to redefine the purchasing software and tools that are used to manage suppliers, part revisions, requirements, documentation, agreements, etc.
  • Identify and develop key commercial partnerships throughout all necessary levels of the supply chain.
  • Foster a collaborative costing culture both internally with the engineering team and externally with supplier partners.
  • Act as a liaison with engineering team to release new products; collaborate on design reviews; change control meetings, and other technical discussions to assess and determine equipment needs and system requirements.
  • Enable optimization across the enterprise by working with the engineering teams to collaboratively drive strategic engineering choices that are informed by the current market trends, material sourcing options and total vehicle system trade-offs.
  • Manage and resolve any supply disruptions into early prototype builds and ongoing vehicle production.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 7 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Advanced data analysis tools, including Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and macros) and Tableau. 2. End-to-end procurement processes, including supplier identification, request for information (RFI) and request for quotation (RFQ) execution, bid evaluation, cost benchmarking, total landed cost modeling, and purchase order management. 3. Contract negotiation and long-term supply agreements. 4. Supplier development activities, including capability assessments, cost-reduction initiatives, supplier scorecards, and continuous improvement programs. 5. Manufacturing processes, including injection molding, stamping, machining, die casting, and assembly. 6. Leading cross-functional sourcing and industrialization projects using project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall). 7. Ability to conduct should-cost analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) for supply chain disruptions. 8. Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies related to supplier capacity, quality, and logistics.
  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Quality systems and methodologies (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). 2. International trade regulations, customs clearance procedures, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, country-of-origin requirements, and Incoterms (FOB, DDP, and EXW) for cross-border shipments.
