About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical support to all aspects of data center operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 99.9% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
Perform complex electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on power systems to prevent downtime, utilizing DCIM and BMS tools.
Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency operating procedures (EOP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
Assists in the technical review and input on plans for all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility;
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and local electrical codes to maintain a safe working environment.
Review and approve electrical upgrades, ensuring capacity planning aligns with facility infrastructure capacity.
Interface with contractors and vendors for maintenance, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
Assess Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure in Manufacturing data centers.
Design electrical infrastructure solutions.
Generate recommendation based on site assessments.
Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
Work with other teams (Networking, Logistics, Safety, Security, Business leaders) and operating partners to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 3+ years of experience in high-availability, mission-critical environments (data centers, hospitals, or manufacturing).
Technical Skills: Knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS units, ATS, and emergency generators.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to manage risk under pressure.
Certifications: Industry-specific certifications (e.g., Data Center Certifications or critical power certifications) are often preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to develop solutions and create technical plans on projects.
Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to improve quality, reliability and continuously drive down operating costs.
Understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and design related to data centers.
Knowledge of electricity and medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.
Experience with emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, battery backup).
Knowledge of preventative maintenance and work order software systems, single line drawings, critical scripted work, and sequence of operations.
