Hardware Integration Engineer
Ford Motor CompanyHardware Integration Engineer resolving functional issues and driving system design efficiencies at Ford. Responsible for managing system cost and ensuring program milestone success.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures, IPSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight.
- Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program.
- Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team.
- Lead escalation of issues when needed.
- Lead resolution of PD launch issues via JIRA, AIMS, CRs, FCPA, Alerts, & other launch performance metrics for on time delivery of launch.
- Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams.
- Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 3- 5+ years’ of experience with one or more of the following systems: Dressed Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case, Cooling Hoses & Bottles, Low Pressure Air Induction, High Pressure Air Induction, eDrive, Traction Battery, and HV Modules.
- Onsite collaboration expected for at least 4 days per week.
- Design and Release Engineering or Vehicle Engineering experience is preferred.
- Strong fundamentals and working knowledge of GPDS engineering milestones & GPDS process.
- Experience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (open, clear, and inclusive).
- Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
- Demonstrated organizational and delegation skills with proper follow-up.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.
- Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering).
