Key responsibilities & impact

The Restraints D&R Engineer is responsible for the design and release of restraints components and systems for new and current vehicles including managing project timing, releasing drawings and engineering specifications
Creating specific FMA Documents, DVP&R, and quality documents
Part delivery on time for each program milestone
Tracking of supplier’s deliverables
Commodities include Seatbelts, Airbags, Steering Wheels, Buckles, Height Adjusters, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent
3+ years of experience working as a design and release Engineer for Restraints Commodities
Working knowledge of Regulatory and Public Domain Requirements including but not limited to FMVSS, IIHS, etc.
Working Knowledge of simulation and testing methodologies for restraints and safety systems
Good program management skills with the ability to manage a number of assignments simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team
Significant problem-solving skills demonstrated previously
Knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly operations
