About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Restraints D&R Engineer is responsible for the design and release of restraints components and systems for new and current vehicles including managing project timing, releasing drawings and engineering specifications
- Creating specific FMA Documents, DVP&R, and quality documents
- Part delivery on time for each program milestone
- Tracking of supplier’s deliverables
- Commodities include Seatbelts, Airbags, Steering Wheels, Buckles, Height Adjusters, etc.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working as a design and release Engineer for Restraints Commodities
- Working knowledge of Regulatory and Public Domain Requirements including but not limited to FMVSS, IIHS, etc.
- Working Knowledge of simulation and testing methodologies for restraints and safety systems
- Good program management skills with the ability to manage a number of assignments simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
- Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Significant problem-solving skills demonstrated previously
- Knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly operations
