About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Restraints D&R Engineer is responsible for the design and release of restraints components and systems for new and current vehicles including managing project timing, releasing drawings and engineering specifications
  • Creating specific FMA Documents, DVP&R, and quality documents
  • Part delivery on time for each program milestone
  • Tracking of supplier’s deliverables
  • Commodities include Seatbelts, Airbags, Steering Wheels, Buckles, Height Adjusters, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working as a design and release Engineer for Restraints Commodities
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory and Public Domain Requirements including but not limited to FMVSS, IIHS, etc.
  • Working Knowledge of simulation and testing methodologies for restraints and safety systems
  • Good program management skills with the ability to manage a number of assignments simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Significant problem-solving skills demonstrated previously
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly operations
