About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement freight efficiencies to achieve calendarized and annualized targets. 10%
- Develop logistics commodity strategies with the Transportation Purchasing Organization. 5%
- Manage, track, and escalate critical premium freight moves. Including consistent monitoring of the 10 am premium logistics provider chat. 20%
- Manage metrics and performance of the premium freight bid board solution. 10%
- Support TPO in helping carriers react to changes at the least cost. 5%
- Manage inbound freight cost by identifying and implementing improvements and tracking physicals. 5%
- Audit and dispute logistics provider billing discrepancies via bid board processes. 5%
- Interface with Plant Group Managers and MP&L Managers to manage logistics-related issues between plants, suppliers, and carriers. 2%
- Monitoring Cube Utilization, Brokering, Add/Cancel metrics, Rack Return-to-plan 5%
- Interface with Lead Logistics Provider to ensure quality and timely delivery of services. 10%
- Lead launch of Bid Board 2.0 Process to Ensure Competition in premium provider space. 20%
- Maintain or improve the 5.8 sigma rating for the overall quality performance level for production disruptions. 3%
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience interfacing with plant personnel; staff MP&L (MFE, SCM, etc.) and cross-functional (Purchasing, Lead Logistics Providers, etc.) teams.
- 1+ years of Parts Follow Up
- 1+ years of experience using CMMS
- Strong understanding of MP&L (CMMS, Data Warehouse) and Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) systems.
- Travel will be required to the plants the RTM supports. Weekend work may be required on an exception basis.
- Even better, you may have...
- Experience within the NAML organization, SCM, preferred, and a strong knowledge of logistical operations.
- Experience leading the resolution of plant, supplier, carrier, and other MP&L issues to ensure plant production.
- Strong analytical skill set, coupled with decision-making capability, including a background in Alteryx, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
- Ability to self-motivate, strong time-management skills, emotional resilience, and work under pressure and time commitments.
- Plant experience preferred.
