About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Designing the PCB layout for traction inverter applications and validate the design through analysis, simulation and physical testing.
  • Leading complex layout projects
  • Capture the PCB design requirement through electrical circuit design review and mechanical design review.
  • Design the PCB layout considering thermal management, signal routing, and mechanical constraints. Optimizing the layout for signal integrity, power integrity, and impedance control.
  • Work with cross functional product development teams in supporting product development.
  • Verifying the layout meets electrical and manufacturing specifications using automated design rules.
  • PCB footprint and schematic symbol creation and verification.
  • Maintain library of all schematic symbols, footprints and part types
  • Conduct Signal integrity analysis and Power integrity analysis.
  • Working closely with electrical engineers to address design concerns and incorporate feedback throughout the layout process.
  • Creating detailed layout documentation for manufacturing and assembly
  • Collaborating with testing engineers to test and verify the PCB layout through prototype builds and electrical validation processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Five (5) years of computer aided PCB design layout experience.
  • Understanding of board fabrication/assembly DFM and DFT requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of the physics and electrical principles of PCB design, particularly for signal integrity concerns, impedance control/matching and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Proficient in leading-edge EDA tools (Cadence Allegro board design and schematic entry preferred)
  • Good written and communication skills.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
