About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You will architect and scale the cloud infrastructure foundation powering Ford’s next-generation Software Diagnostics & Observability platform.
You will shape infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives as well as architect and use GCP in an enterprise environment with multiple user profiles with high level of autonomy and visibility.
This opportunity will design resilient, production-grade infrastructure automation frameworks and directly influence how next-generation connected vehicles detect, diagnose, and recover from software and electronics failures in production environments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum BS or equivalent degree completed in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ or more years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting production workloads within GCP (or comparable) cloud enterprise environments including infrastructure automation, deployment strategy, and operational excellence initiatives
5+ years demonstrating proficiency in GCP core services including GKE, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, GCS, Artifact Registry, Pub/Sub, Cloud Build, IAM, VPC, and Private Service Connect
5+ years of experience implementing infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform including development of reusable modules and scalable deployment standards across multi-environment enterprise platforms
5+ years of work experience operating secure, highly available cloud platforms within shared enterprise environments including governance, networking, IAM, and centralized operational controls
5+ or more years of experience operating within regulated, shared infrastructure regulated environments including VPC architectures, centralized billing, governance controls, and organizational policy constraints
5+ years in roles leading automation initiatives and governing cloud infrastructure provisioning standards across large-scale enterprise environments
5+ years hands-on experience with container security practices including image scanning, SBOM analysis, and supply chain risk management having shaped infrastructure standards, deployment strategy, and operational excellence outcomes
5+ years’ experience configuring GCP monitoring and observability pipelines, with familiarity with Dynatrace or Grafana integration
5+ years’ experience in roles where strong understanding of GCP IAM, including workload identity federation, service account management, and least-privilege access patterns are expected.
Even better, you may have... Enterprise Cloud Governance experience managing GCP environments in regulated industries such as automotive, healthcare, or financial services; AI Infrastructure Enablement familiarity with GCP Vertex AI platform administration including model registry management and Vertex AI Workbench; Hybrid Connectivity and Observability Engineering exposure to Kafka or OpenTelemetry-based observability architectures.
