About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as Ford Energy’s hands-on Senior Engineer for the integration of Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Support the technical foundation for product execution and field readiness.
- Deliver technical integration deliverables and serve as the key technical interface between suppliers, commissioning teams, and engineering partners to ensure long-term platform robustness.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Power Electronics, or Systems Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in BESS, energy storage, power electronics, or controls integration.
- Strong practical experience with PCS, EMS, BMS, SCADA, and site-level control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, validation, and release of controls software.
- Strong knowledge of communications protocols, fault handling, and interface control.
- Even better, Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Direct experience with utility-scale BESS deployment and commissioning.
- Familiarity with applicable IEC, UL, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
- Experience with software baselining and configuration management in complex systems.
- Background in automotive embedded software or industrial automation.
