Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development of features at the systems engineering level from concept feature development to production and manage feature upgrade and migration plan.
  • Define requirements, design architecture, implement code, and conduct thorough testing.
  • Evaluate potential design options to make appropriate proposals considering feature requirements, available technology, efficiency, and platform capabilities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prototype solutions, and analyze performance metrics.
  • Model the system from the data abstraction layer, simplifying complex systems by breaking them down into smaller, more manageable parts.
  • Use modeling tools and techniques to represent the system's behavior and facilitate communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Allocate features and functions across electronic modules and subsystems to meet cost, quality and feature performance targets.
  • Develop feature specifications, feature Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, and feature verification plans.
  • Own and craft DFMEA's through the standard development process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, use cases, user experience, performance measures, and system interfaces between key components and translate them into tangible technical specifications, and drive feature development.
  • Review existing system designs to find new opportunities for cost or quality improvement.
  • Interact with program teams, core engineers and functional areas to create balanced solutions to competing requirements.
  • Undertake functional/non-functional requirements gathering and champion Technical Design Reviews, soliciting feedback from all partners, and ensuring agreement from Privacy/Legal, Security, Safety (if required).
  • Apply test-driven-development mindset in progressing a system concept to implementation through various stages (from requirements through launch).
  • Automate testing procedures and build comprehensive test suites to ensure the quality and reliability of features systems.
  • Design test cases, develop automated test scripts, and analyze test results to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop and author product-specific requirements, evaluating quality and assisting with issue triage, as necessary, to determine root cause.
  • Work with development teams to ensure that the code meets the required specifications and to resolve any defects.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • 4 years of experience with performing systems analysis and designing systems, subsystems, or components defining requirements.
  • 2 years of experience investigating and resolving feature-specific issues during product development and launch or analyzing system failure points and evaluating solution proposals.
  • 2 years of experience interfacing cloud-to-vehicle modem communications; or applying network communication protocols, transport protocols, and payload optimization techniques.
  • 2 years of experience utilizing automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • 2 years of experience defining systems/feature requirements at the concept level to technology level and test cases, implementing code, and conducting thorough testing.
  • 2 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, use cases, user experience, performance measures, and system interfaces.
