About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • SW Applications Engineer for Seat Electronic Control Units.
  • Lead End to End Software Delivery and system integration for Seat Electronic Control Units, including technical execution, meeting deadlines and adhering to program requirements.
  • Evaluate program definition and work with feature teams to determine content and market variations.
  • Lead Statement of Work/RFQ package completion software integration.
  • Define electrical interfaces related to software and manage changes by controlling the Software release content.
  • Conduct Design Reviews with interfacing Ford activities, vehicle package, Seats Core Software and supplier engineering.
  • Conduct Subsystem level validation through Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT) on each Software release (Subsystem and/or Vehicle).
  • Lead quality/warranty analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead program specific SW Failure Mode Avoidance (SW-DFMEA).
  • Communicate with FSIM, PMT to support program deliverables.
  • Agile Collaboration: Facilitate effective collaboration between JIRA Saga owners and the supplier software development team to ensure efficient and timely software delivery across programs.
  • Cultivate Innovation and Improvement, promote a team environment that fosters innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide on-site support to troubleshoot, flash, test or validate Seat Controls SW.
  • Collaborate very closely with Body Interior, Seat Feature Systems Engineer, ECU HW Engineer on design, troubleshooting and quality control of the seat control system.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical & electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering and functional specifications.
  • M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering (even better).
  • 3+ years of experience with SW release practices (SWAD, WERS, IVS, Agile).
  • Experience with Software program management.
  • Experience with MS Office, Vector tools such as CANalyzer, use of an oscilloscope and other troubleshooting tools; experience with Ford product development system applications is a plus (WERS, AVBOM, PPM Audit, Digital Buck, Team Center, Integrator).
