About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and release components
  • Lead/Support resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues as they arise
  • Lead new/forward model product development of the base engine sub system for new engine platforms
  • Create, complete, and approve supplier and Ford engine DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation
  • Lead Sub System CPMT activities.
  • Support all program meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, change control, etc.).
  • Lead drawing release and changes.
  • Interface with Calibration, mating components, Purchasing, suppliers, and mfg/assembly plants.
  • Prototype Build coordination: load forward model part numbers into system and ensure fit and function.
  • Work directly with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and launch teams to support programs and resolve quality issues, included travel both domestic and international when required.
  • WERS (Worldwide engineering release system) coordination; alerts, concerns and notice processing.
  • Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate quality documents (ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAF’s, Global Integrator, PPAP & PSW’s, 543 Chart etc.) for program specific sub-system responsibilities.
  • Establish and document engine attributes for successful vehicle integration and confirming hardware unit program milestone achievement.
  • Manage the vehicle interface communication and integration delivery of the ‘Engine-as-Shipped’ and ‘Engine-as-Installed’ part releases.
  • Coordinate overall engine & powerpack quality metric achievement.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Min of 3+ years in Engineering, Powertrain or Automotive
  • Design and Release Experience
  • Six Sigma experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership ability, able to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Technical expertise/experience with Gasoline internal combustion engines, specifically base engine design and release
  • Experience in powertrain integration, systems engineering, vehicle testing
  • Green Belt certification (or black belt)
  • Base engine testing
  • 1D & 3D simulation methodologies – Both and Static and Dynamic
  • Base engine Sub-system design & development
