About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Diagnostic & Data Systems Engineer leads the development and implementation of vehicle diagnostic strategies, leveraging connected vehicle data to ensure reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction in the era of electrification and automation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience with vehicle electrical systems, automotive diagnostics, or data analytics.
- 3+ years Excellent analytical and troubleshooting experience.
- 2+ years Experience with OBD systems and related regulations.
- 2+ years experience data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL).
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of quality documents (DFMEA, LFMA, boundary diagrams) in diagnostics.
- Experience with electrical module design, in-vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet), and power distribution.
- Familiarity with Ford-specific diagnostic tools and platforms (e.g., Vanguard/VSCS).
- Experience with connected vehicles, telematics, and cloud-based data architectures.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for data processing and diagnostic tool development.
- Electrical Design & Release (D&R) and electrical testing experience.
- Strong learning agility, adaptability, and systems thinking.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
