About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with lead engineer to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.
  • Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers.
  • Quality documentation development and reviews
  • Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory or legal requirements are met including RF certification and homologation.
  • Packaging of components to optimize RF reception, manufacturability, and customer usage.
  • Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for this system on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc). Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues.
  • Manage parts release in WERS.
  • Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Operations, human factors, and other teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and Ford assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.
  • Additional responsibilities may include the following: FEDE BOM, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW
  • Work with PVT’s to optimize controls for component installation
  • Review quality data for assigned programs to identify trends/emerging issues
  • Lead launch issue resolution
  • Manage supplier sourcing based on program/platform feature content

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with design and testing of Automotive electrical systems – hardware, software, and systems.
  • Experience with vehicle network tools including CANalyzer.
  • Master's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with design and testing of Automotive electrical systems
  • Experience with development/testing of wireless technology
