About the role
- Design, Develop, Release, and Test Body Exterior products for Production (in plant and/or Mod-Center) and Dealer Accessory programs
- Design, Develop, Release and Validate other potential exterior products as requested by marketing.
- Investigate and develop ideas for new product offerings
- Maintain all existing Body Exterior accessories for all platforms – creating and maintaining all bill of materials for all vehicle lines for each commodity
- Support compliance with Ford requirements, DVP&Rs, FMEAs, and sign-off as required
- Support Dealer Service questions on Body Exterior accessories.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of Product Development Experience Designing and Releasing Body exterior components from Conception to Vehicle Assembly
- 3+ years of Expertise with Plastic Design and Manufacturing
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Ford Product Development Process (GPDS)
- Understanding of automotive networks – WERS, Team Center, TcVis Mockup
- Experience with CAD, physical schematics, Illustrated process illustrations
