About the role

  • Implementing and maintaining firewall rules, coordinating incident response, and ensuring compliance.
  • Creating and managing secure connections for external partners using Cisco's VPN capabilities.
  • Assessing requested security policy changes and processing firewall change requests.
  • Updating URL/DNS (block) lists and providing installation, configuration, integrations, troubleshoot and performance tuning support.
  • Ensuring readiness of new security capabilities and feature upgrades in inline network security products.
  • Creating playbooks for security procedures and documenting security configurations.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, information technology or a technology related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco Umbrella, IPS, and ZTNA.
  • Advanced understanding of F5 Load Balancers, including automation capabilities.
  • Experience with Cisco firewalls, Viavi Observer, and Wireshark for packet analysis.
  • Familiarity with end-user security strategies, including host-based firewalls, transparent proxies, and Network Access Control (NAC).
  • Experience leading or participating in enhancement projects for on-premises proxies like Cisco WSA, and potential Cloud Proxy migration efforts.
  • Ability to engineer and deploy updates to support changes in PAC files using JavaScript.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting network security environments and understanding network troubleshooting tools.
  • Significant technical, functional, and hands-on experience with networking services and operations.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to influence team members and provide strong viewpoints as needed.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience engineering Cisco IOS-based firewalls/VPNs in production environments.
  • At least 6 years in network security engineering roles within medium to large-scale enterprises and a total of 10 years of enterprise IT experience.
