About the role

  • Able to influence the strategic direction of the company by finding opportunities in large, rich data sets and crafting and implementing data-driven strategies that fuel growth including cost savings, revenue, and profit.
  • Assessments, and evaluating impacts of missing/unusable data, design and select features, develop, and implement statistical/predictive models using advanced algorithms on diverse sources of data and testing and validation of models, such as forecasting, natural language processing, pattern recognition, machine vision, supervised and unsupervised classification, neural networks, etc.
  • Experience successfully going cold into datasets and have a process to understand, clean, and format the data.
  • Experience with crafting ETL processes to source and link data in preparation for Model/Algorithm development.
  • Understand and communicate mathematical solutions as business problems solutions to product and non-technical partners.
  • Help to grow a team of data scientists and analysts through project leadership such as technical coaching, mentorship and establishing team-wide best practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing statistical methods and applied research e.g. time series analysis, neural networks, GANs, Gaussian regression, experimentation, causal inference, etc.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Python, Pandas, Git, Jira (or equivalent), SQL, Cloud platforms.
  • 3+ years’ Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred), Azure Data Lake, GCP Big Query, Databricks, Spark, SQL and NO-SQL databases, etc.
  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience (even better).
  • Demonstrated successful application of analytical methods and machine learning techniques with measurable impact on product/design/business/strategy (even better).
  • Expert in Python, Pyspark, Pandas, GCP (even better).
  • Familiarity working with Ford and connected vehicle data and deep knowledge of automobiles, connected vehicle data & relevant infrastructure (even better).
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written skills (even better).
  • Highly credible in organizational, time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills (even better).
  • Familiarity working with big data to develop scalable, production-ready solutions (even better).
