About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the day-to-day operation of a Parts Distribution Center
- Work closely with the Building Manager to execute warehouse tasks and performance metrics consistently and on time
- Manage warehouse deadlines and timelines, adapting to planned and unplanned complexities
- Manage operational business plans, depot budgets, inventory, facilities, and external partner relationships
- Supervise and develop material control supervisors
- Manage inbound, outbound, claims processing, building maintenance, UAW relationships, and transportation personnel
- Lead quality continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance
- Deliver objectives related to safety, quality, efficiency, absenteeism, inventory accuracy, and cost
- Manage operations metrics including lost time incidents, error rate, denials, inbound cycle time, inventory accuracy, grid times, and on-time delivery
- Maintain positive working relationships with UAW employees and committee, including employee accountability, vacation scheduling, and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees
- Minimum 3 year leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years operational/distribution experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate hourly and salaried employees
- Working knowledge of Windows programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
- Knowledge of warehouse systems (EWM)
- Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
- Goal oriented and continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and reduced costs
- Minimum 3 years working with the UAW/Teamster workforce and contract
- Knowledge of warehouse systems (SAP)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
