About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the quality champion for electrical, infotainment, and connectivity systems on future vehicle programs
  • Identify potential failures before they reach customers
  • Conduct Change Point Analysis (CPA)
  • Work with Product Development and full-service suppliers to ensure proper FMA documentation, including Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, quality history, reliability checklists (RCLs), and SCCAFs
  • Partner with design engineers, program management, suppliers, and problem-solving teams on root-cause investigations
  • Drive corrective actions to closure, confirm fix plans, and help develop Prevent-Recurrence Actions
  • Audit program quality deliverables against Global Product Development Process (GPDS) milestones, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) documentation, and launch readiness criteria
  • Analyze quality, warranty, and customer satisfaction data using AI-powered analytics tools and enterprise warranty/reporting systems
  • Identify trends and prioritize risk areas
  • Use AI-assisted tools, Jira, Jama Connect, and internal engineering requirements systems to improve documentation reviews and cross-team collaboration
  • Build product robustness from the earliest stages of design
  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and problem-solving specialists across Ford

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in automotive or electronics quality engineering
  • Exposure to electrical hardware and/or embedded software systems
  • Experience applying Problem Solving methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of FMEA/DFMEA methodology
  • Knowledge of root-cause problem-solving techniques such as 5-Why analysis
  • Knowledge of verification/validation planning
  • Familiarity with or willingness to quickly learn requirements management, issue tracking, engineering design, and warranty analytics tools
  • Ability to use or learn Jira, Jama Connect, Ford Engineering Design Environment (FEDE), Global System for Analytics and Reporting (GSAR), MagicDraw, AI-assisted DFMEA review tools, and enterprise data/reporting systems
  • Ability to pull and analyze relevant data, partner with product engineering teams, and support preventive actions and resolution plans
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices
  • Ability to lead or coordinate cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without formal authority
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience with Android Automotive, CarPlay, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or USB is advantageous
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is advantageous
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering documentation and review tools is advantageous
  • 5+ years of dedicated Low-Voltage and/or High-Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems experience is advantageous
  • Experience defining, planning, and executing product reliability plans is advantageous
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing assembly and quality control processes is advantageous
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and presenting technical status updates during Management Reviews is advantageous
