About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead seat trim development through cross-functional collaboration with suppliers
- Work with and visit seat trim manufacturing plants, trim development centers, and seat JIT manufacturing plants
- Manage and control cost, quality, and parts availability of seat trim covers
- Design and release seat trim covers and components
- Lead technical and commercial discussions with suppliers
- Ensure program milestone compliance under GPDS
- Collaborate with seat systems and seat complete engineers to deliver seats with high-quality appearance
- Own BOM management, timing, and release of part numbers
- Solve seat trim cover quality and launch issues using robust problem statements and root-cause definition
- Lead validation and certification of seat trim cover materials and support seat-complete testing
- Support program launches and travel to plants and supplier sites as required
- Support and sign off Engineering Statements of Work with suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience on automotive interiors or seat trim covers
- Knowledge of BOM release systems such as WERS, AVBOM or similar
- Proficiency with Lectra, CATIA, MS Office, Vismockup, Teamcenter, and MS Project
- Technical experience with leather, vinyl, cloth, carpet, non-woven, hidden gussets, and threads
- Expertise in cut & sew, lamination, decorative stitching, perforation, and tack and sew manufacturing processes
- Experience with cost control and quality assurance
- Knowledge of material validation and specifications
- Familiarity with GPDS, PDP, and quality methodologies including Green Belt, 5D, and 8D
- Strong supplier negotiation skills
- Leadership and problem-solving capabilities

- Advanced English proficiency, written and spoken
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel as required
