About the role
- Review and decision new account applications and transactions for accuracy and potential fraud
- Create and escalate cases for BSA/AML or management review
- Investigate incidents, conduct in depth analysis, document findings, and prepare detailed reports
- Review and clear alerts/rules for transaction monitoring, take necessary action, and provide feedback on rule performance
- Identify and communicate fraud trends with stakeholders
- Contact customers and other financial institutions for additional information surrounding their cases as necessary
- Assess patterns, transactions, and detect suspicious activities that can indicate fraud
- Ensure compliance with federal regulation pertaining to managing consumer accounts
- Provide guidance to other operations personnel and collaborate with other business units
- Provide insights on overall fraud prevention, comply with laws and regulations, and stay abreast on emerging technologies, techniques, and fraud trends
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate Degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of fraud detection/deterrence banking industry required
- Familiarity with banking rules and regulations including Nacha rules and Regulation E required
- CFE Credential is a plus
- APRP/AAP Credential is preferred
- Can work cross-functionally with various departments of the Bank
- Prior experience with banking applications including Alloy, MANTL, Q2 Online Banking, Finxact, and Savana Servicing highly desired
- Minimum required internet speed of 75 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload, faster speeds are always better
- Ability to provide weekend coverage (2 days off during the weekdays, and on during the weekends)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
- Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach
