About the role
- Own the end-to-end strategy for insurance methodologies across lines (auto, home, renters, life, health, small business, specialty)
- Define excellence for our insurance assessment frameworks in terms of user value, defensibility, transparency and update cadence
- Shape the roadmap for proprietary insurance metrics (e.g., value-for-money indices, claims/experience measures, reliability/stability indicators) and how they surface in rankings and data products
- Identify high-impact opportunities to replace or augment vendor data with proprietary collection and help design those research programs
- Set clear goals and quality standards for analysts working on insurance frameworks and data products
- Mentor team members on insurance concepts, risk thinking, and methodology best practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in insurance, with depth in at least one major line (auto, home, life, health, or small business)
- Strong understanding of how insurance products are designed, priced, and regulated, primarily in the US market
- Key drivers of customer experience and outcomes (claims handling, coverage design, exclusions, complaints, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience building or overseeing analytical frameworks: scoring models, risk models, rating systems, or structured evaluations
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of translating complex insurance and regulatory concepts into clear language for non-experts
- Experience discussing complex insurance topics and breaking down findings for consumers
