About the role

  • Join a high-impact project with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), helping to define and build a new automated system that replaces a critical manual process.
  • Be the voice of the user and steward of the product vision; transform ambiguous needs into a clear roadmap.
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering; work with senior government stakeholders to define product vision.
  • Translate complex policy goals and user needs into user stories, specifications, and product backlog.
  • Serve as primary bridge between client and technical team.
  • Own and prioritize product backlog to meet aggressive timeline.
  • Champion a user-centered approach and facilitate stakeholder workshops and demonstrations.
  • Work embedded in a federal government project, performing work physically within the United States and must be a U.S. citizen able to pass public trust background check.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, Business Analyst, or Product Owner on data projects.
  • A track record of successfully shipping products while working with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements-gathering processes, managing a product backlog, and writing clear, actionable user stories.
  • An exceptional ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to undefined problem spaces.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a humble, collaborative, and user-focused approach that aligns with our company values.
  • Experience in government contracting, civic tech, or federal health programs is highly desirable.
