About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Managing end-to-end payroll processing and employee lifecycle changes
- Processing new starters, transfers, terminations, and organisational restructures
- Validating employment and policy changes for payroll compliance
- Managing manual and special payments as required
- Preparing payroll reporting, reconciliations, and General Ledger journals
- Completing IRD payday filing and statutory compliance activities
- Supporting superannuation, ACC, and related payroll obligations
- Managing payroll queries through ServiceNow
- Contributing to payroll projects, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting annual remuneration processes and pay reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
- Experience working with PayGlobal would be a bonus
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation, including the Holidays Act, PAYE, ACC, and parental leave requirements
- Experience interpreting employment agreements and applying payroll policies accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- The ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly and confidently
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
- A continuous improvement mindset and curiosity to identify better ways of working
- A collaborative approach, while also being comfortable working independently and remotely when required.
