About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Providing legal support across Foodstuffs and establishing strong effective relationships.
- Manage stakeholders across the co operative and working with and managing external lawyers.
- Advising Foodstuffs’ property team and instructing external lawyers on leasing documentation and other property agreements for our $2 billion + property portfolio.
- Advising on high profile marketing campaigns (e.g. New World), intellectual property and privacy matters.
- Supporting on mergers and acquisitions.
- Drafting, reviewing and advising on key strategic commercial and supply contracts.
- Company secretarial and corporate governance work.
- Supporting the business on compliance with regulatory matters, including advising on the new Grocery Industry Competition Act.
- Foodstuffs crisis management and litigation dispute management.
- Supporting the Legal team on legal innovation and efficiencies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A tertiary qualification in Law with at least 2 years’ PQE
- Training from a reputable law firm.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- A flexible and open attitude.
- A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and contribute.
- Being a team player with aspirations to develop your leadership.
- Previous in-house legal experience (e.g. secondment experience) would be an advantage, but not a necessity for success in the role.
