About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Providing legal support across Foodstuffs and establishing strong effective relationships.
Manage stakeholders across the co operative and working with and managing external lawyers.
Advising Foodstuffs’ property team and instructing external lawyers on leasing documentation and other property agreements for our $2 billion + property portfolio.
Advising on high profile marketing campaigns (e.g. New World), intellectual property and privacy matters.
Supporting on mergers and acquisitions.
Drafting, reviewing and advising on key strategic commercial and supply contracts.
Company secretarial and corporate governance work.
Supporting the business on compliance with regulatory matters, including advising on the new Grocery Industry Competition Act.
Foodstuffs crisis management and litigation dispute management.
Supporting the Legal team on legal innovation and efficiencies.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A tertiary qualification in Law with at least 2 years’ PQE
Training from a reputable law firm.
Ability to perform under pressure.
A flexible and open attitude.
A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and contribute.
Being a team player with aspirations to develop your leadership.
Previous in-house legal experience (e.g. secondment experience) would be an advantage, but not a necessity for success in the role.
