About the role
- Define and Enforce Engineering Standards: A key role in the creation and adoption of secure engineering standards, governance policies, best practices, and alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance frameworks.
- Drive Secure & Efficient DevSecOps Practices: Champion productivity by streamlining workflows, automating tasks, and optimizing tools to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient solution delivery.
- Establish Reusable Frameworks & Continuous Improvement: Develop and maintain reusable frameworks, reference implementations, and continuously assess and improve engineering processes and tooling using feedback and metrics.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide deep technical guidance, mentorship, and strategic advice across teams, leading communities of practice and influencing engineering decisions and direction.
- Align Engineering & Architectural Design: Translate architectural designs into actionable implementation plans, review technical designs, and ensure engineering delivery aligns with organizational standards and vision.
- Collaboration & Representation: Collaborate closely with architects, tech leads, and engineers on complex problems and represent engineering in cross-functional and external forums.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Principal Engineer or Senior Tech Lead roles, leading complex engineering initiatives.
- Deep expertise in DevSecOps, secure SDLC, cloud security, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), CI/CD, and containerisation.
- Strong architectural insight with hands-on experience in distributed systems, microservices, API security, and cloud migrations.
- Ability to mentor, influence, and uplift engineering capability across teams, embedding secure practices and technical excellence.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills to align delivery with strategy and enterprise architecture.
