About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, direct and manage the Program Delivery unit ensuring effective project management and operational support to Country Offices.
  • Lead the Program Delivery team in a manner that facilitates a high-performance culture, openness, strong relationships, mutual support and respect, and decisiveness.
  • Manage, support and mentor a team of Portfolio Managers and Coordinators to successfully meet performance objectives.
  • Provide leadership on the development and roll out of program delivery standards.
  • Provide global leadership on the roll out of strategic initiatives to Country Offices.
  • Global portfolio management, strategic planning, and budgeting for global portfolio of programs and projects across all country offices.
  • Support CPPRO and Regional Directors with operational matters related to effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Liaison between home office, business units, and Country Offices (CO), addressing bottlenecks as required.
  • Compliance coordination with the agreement management, risk and compliance teams.
  • Tracking of Program Delivery based upon the criteria of Scope, Time, Budget and Risk.
  • Financial tracking of monthly expenditure rates for all projects, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support Project and/or Country Office start-up and closeouts.
  • Monitor the quality of CO programmatic reporting to donors.
  • Provide surge support to COs to support effective and efficient program delivery and address risks or bottlenecks to delivery.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management, international development, and/or regional studies.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in and based in a developing country.
  • Prior experience in a complex, matrixed organization, with the ability to work with country offices as well as home office units.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Work with child sponsorship and other private funds preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • PMDPro or any other project management certification is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • French or Spanish speaking is an added advantage.
