About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Loan Officers by managing lead intake, engaging with prospective borrowers, assisting with loan setup, and helping move files efficiently through the origination process
  • Contact inbound mortgage leads from our credit union partners through phone calls, emails, and text messages to establish initial contact and assess borrower needs
  • Conduct preliminary borrower conversations to gather information, determine eligibility, and identify financing objectives before introducing members to a Loan Officer
  • Manage a high volume of inbound lead opportunities while maintaining timely follow-up and detailed communication records
  • Assist with loan setup, application review, and collection of borrower documentation
  • Communicate with borrowers, Realtors, title companies, insurance agents, and internal team members regarding loan status and outstanding items
  • Review files for completeness and accuracy before submission to the loan officer
  • Track loan milestones and proactively follow up on conditions and required documentation
  • Maintain accurate loan information and notes within the Loan Origination System
  • Assist with disclosures, pre-qualification activities, and pipeline management
  • Help ensure loans move efficiently from application through closing
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining compliance with company policies and mortgage lending regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Experience as a Loan Officer Assistant, Loan Partner, Junior Processor, Loan Setup Specialist, Mortgage Processor, Escrow Officer, Title professional, or Mortgage Call Center Specialist is highly valued
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience with Encompass Loan Origination System preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with prospective borrowers
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple files, leads, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills preferred
