Engineer

• Develop and maintain integrated optical and multiphysics simulation frameworks (optical, thermal, mechanical coupling) for Digital Twin applications
• Model complex laser amplifier architectures, including gain media, pump geometries, and thermal effects
• Build, integrate, and continuously refine the Digital Twin environment for system-level prediction and optimization
• Validate simulation models against experimental data and perform sensitivity and uncertainty analysis
• Develop reduced-order and surrogate models for efficient Digital Twin deployment
• Collaborate with optical engineers, laser physicists, and experimental teams to translate simulation results into engineering design decisions
• Interface with Digital Twin architects, systems engineers, and program management to ensure models meet project requirements

Optical Engineer, Digital Twin

People Operations

• Work directly with senior leaders across Engineering, Physics, and Operations to understand business priorities and connect them to people strategy. Serve as a trusted advisor on organizational design, team structure, and leadership capability — not a policy relay point.
• Co-own the rollout and ongoing evolution of our performance review process and career framework. Coach managers on setting clear expectations, giving direct feedback, and having the conversations that actually move people forward.
• Navigate complex employee relations situations with sound judgment, balancing empathy with accountability. Support a culture where feedback is normal, not an event, and where people feel both challenged and respected.
• Help leaders manage through the growing pains of a scaling deep-tech company. Facilitate calibration sessions, support restructuring conversations, and bring a diagnostic lens to engagement and retention patterns.
• Use people data (attrition trends, engagement signals, compensation benchmarks) to inform recommendations rather than gut feel. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you should be comfortable building a case with numbers.
• Maintain solid working knowledge of German labor law (BetrVG, TzBfG, AGG), with an appreciation for the nuances of operating across multiple jurisdictions. Know when to flag, when to advise, and when to bring in counsel.

People Business Partner

• Design and specify concept and detailed designs for complex optical systems, aligned with functional and performance requirements.
• Lead the integration of optical components with mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems, ensuring seamless product functionality.
• Take ownership of optical component development, delivering project and technical deliverables weighing quality, cost, time and risk.
• Develop and implement qualification and validation test plans to verify optical system performance and reliability.
• Innovate and push the boundaries of optical technology by researching and developing novel optical concepts and solutions.
• Identify and align critical suppliers to realise optics design into functional hardware.
• Participate actively in design reviews, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
• Collaborate within multidiscipline scientific and engineering teams to find pragmatic engineering solutions towards the project objectives.

AI Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain AI-assisted developer productivity tools, code quality automation, and modern CI/CD infrastructure.
• Translate software development requirements into clear software designs, internal developer APIs, and repository templates.
• Lead technical design discussions and establish safe, practical standards for using AI-generated code and agentic tools across the department.
• Proactively address code quality, testing, and reliability gaps by building robust automated testing frameworks and code-review gating systems.
• Write clear runbooks, documentation, and training guides to help engineering teams adopt AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
• Collaborate with other software teams to systematically debug complex issues across system boundaries and ensure safe release processes.

Software Engineer, AI Engineering Workflows

QA Automation Engineer

• Design and build scalable, maintainable internal software tools and workflows that automate the generation of CAD and part drawings from complex requirements.
• Translate physical and mechanical requirements into clear software designs, parametric CAD scripts, and automated design workflows.
• Teach mechanical and hardware engineers how to intake requirements and iterate on design solutions using AI-assisted CAD workflows.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure generated CAD drawings meet strict physical and operational constraints.
• Establish standards and runbooks to help mechanical engineers review and validate AI-generated CAD outputs before manufacturing.
• Systematically debug and troubleshoot complex workflows across system boundaries, including CAD software integrations and data pipelines.
