About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide capital markets services including public offerings of equity and convertible debt, PIPEs, Registered Direct offerings, and private placements of equity and debt securities
  • Drive activities and strategies in sell-side and buy-side engagements
  • Partner with institutional sales, traders, and internal and external partners to develop, market, and deliver complex client solutions
  • Adhere to and enforce firm and regulatory requirements
  • Lead preparation of documentation and materials
  • Market and negotiate transactions
  • Lead deal teams executing financing transactions, including public offerings, private placements, and PIPE transactions
  • Work with investment bankers to ensure prompt and effective transaction execution
  • Support new business development through prospect identification and prioritization, pitches, and industry-event marketing
  • Develop junior team members through project work, coaching, and mentoring
  • Develop and maintain client and investor relationships
  • Travel based on customer needs, with 50%+ travel expected

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Investment Banking experience in Consumer, Industrials, Media, Communications, Energy, Financials, Real Estate, Materials, or Utilities required
  • Relevant industry experience in Northland’s industry sectors
  • Significant experience executing sell-side, buy-side, and debt transactions
  • Proven track record working on executed deals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and provide complicated financial analysis
  • Ability to develop appropriate corporate finance solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain client and investor relationships
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • BA/BA degree required
  • FINRA SIE, 7, 63, and Series 79 License (or equivalent registrations)
  • MBA highly desirable
  • Minimum of five years in Investment Banking or Capital Markets experience, with at least one year at the Director or equivalent level
  • Unrestricted work authorization; must not require future sponsorship
  • Must meet applicable financial industry responsibility, regulatory, credit fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Must meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including acceptable background investigation, credit report, and fingerprinting results
  • Able to work at least 8 hours per day and communicate with employees and the public
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
