About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help customers achieve home ownership by delivering a helpful, easy, and personal mortgage experience
  • Understand and communicate the mortgage journey from beginning to end
  • Develop relationships with existing and new customers and advise them on suitable mortgage products
  • Identify and close loan opportunities aligned with revenue and profit goals
  • Provide outstanding customer experiences through advice and guidance on mortgage loans
  • Originate and close mortgage loans while ensuring compliance and file accountability
  • Collect and input complete applications using the FNBO Mortgage system
  • Set proper expectations and deliver on customer promises throughout the process
  • Consult with clients about current and future mortgage needs
  • Increase revenue and reduce expenses
  • Provide timely and professional written and verbal product solutions
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
  • Review performance goals and expectations monthly with the manager
  • Provide mortgage education and support to assigned retail branches
  • Support FNBO CRA and Fair Lending requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of current mortgage products, services, and operating procedures
  • Support team member competency development
  • Collaborate with internal mortgage partners to process customer files efficiently and timely
  • Partner across FNBO to optimize referral opportunities
  • Maintain internal and external partnerships
  • Identify opportunities for the mortgage division to be successful and best in class
  • Comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the BSA/AML Program
  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong sales ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications
  • Open availability 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 9am-1pm Saturday, Central time
  • Knowledge of pricing and various underwriting requirements desired
  • 1+ years of experience in mortgage loan origination desired
  • Active Mortgage Originator with a pipeline desired
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) required
  • Must meet applicable financial responsibility, character, credit fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Must meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including acceptable background investigation and credit report results
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship
