About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for designing, implementing, administering, monitoring and troubleshooting the organizations laptop, desktop and VDI infrastructure.
- Supports and maintains other key technologies and software supporting end user mobility, collaboration, and virtual desktops.
- Lead the efforts in enhancing client technology user experiences.
- Provide expertise in the delivery of new technologies in enhancing capabilities with collaboration and mobile workspace.
- Establish, document and maintain policies, procedures and standards.
- Effectively communicate with peers and other teams to report and resolve quality, hardware, software and operational issues.
- Monitor the performance, security, and implement necessary changes in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist in the development of strategies and solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
- Responsible for building and maintaining an automated imaging process for desktops, laptops, and VDI environments.
- Regularly apply upgrades and security patches for the associated operating systems, software and hardware in accordance to the organizations patch management philosophy.
- Work collaboratively to assist others in the deployment of application-based patches.
- Provides escalated support to Service Desk Teams, performing necessary problem-solving actions to ensure timely resolution to users.
- Collaborates with other technology teams to solve problems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related area
- 5+ years of experience with current technical certifications
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of various enterprise and datacenter technologies including but not limited to; current Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco UCS, Windows server operating systems, clustering technologies, physical and virtual server infrastructure, and disaster recovery solutions
- Ability to automate complex tasks through developing customized PowerShell or other scripts
- Proven ability to serve as a project lead and facilitate open-ended technical discussions
- Ability to architect high availability cluster technologies such as virtualization clusters
- Serve as a technical resource to resolve difficult system troubleshooting requests
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills.
