About the role
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all team members with precision and timeliness
- Calculate, process, and report commissions and incentive compensation
- Support the annual merit increase process, including data analysis and implementation
- Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve payroll-related discrepancies
- Collaborate with the Talent team on compensation analysis and market benchmarking
- Administer comprehensive benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, life insurance, and HSAs
- Manage 401(k) plan administration including enrollment, changes, and compliance
- Conduct monthly benefits reconciliation and resolve vendor discrepancies
- Support new hire onboarding for benefits enrollment and payroll setup
- Support open enrollment processes and employee benefits communications
- Ensure payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Prepare and file required payroll tax returns and benefits reporting
- Maintain documentation for compliance audits and government inquiries
- Collect and process mail and handle sensitive documents
- Process bank deposits and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Support general office administration as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 3-7 years of experience in compensation, benefits administration, or payroll management
- Multi-state payroll processing experience required
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and benefits administration
- Proficiency in HRIS systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be located within the Columbus, OH, metro area
